I have a 3d mouse that controls all view movement so I adjust it to where I want and that is where I go back to when I turn head tracking off. Reset position puts me back to normal, default position.
Whether you toggle TOGGLE HEAD TRACKING to OFF or ON you could use the arrow keys (not the numeric keypad) to move your view to a new position, left/right arrow moves left/right, up/down arrow moves up/down, Alt + up/down moves closer/further away from the instruments without zooming, f to reset.
But the primary purpose of F12 is to keep head tracking ON and make a new position the Center position in 3D space i.e. 0,0,0.
omg , thanks so much ,
once I figured out I did not have the keyboard on default , but something from pre SU8, it all clicked in , F12 works as it should now.
I only with the function was addressable directly so I could program it to my button box
You can program it to your button box if you use the manual steps of updating the controller profile xml directly. I mapped this function to my Virpil control panel using that method and it works fine.
ah , then ill give it a try , thanks
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help me? I have today received, installed and calibrated my Tobii 5 however, when I load the sim it does not work? I can see the Track IR slider and I have toggled it in all views but no joy.
Any ideas?
Are the âredâ lights on the tracker itself visible when you are loaded into the sim?
Those red lights should be on all the time, not just when Microsoft Flight Simulator is running.
Hi,
Thanks for coming back to me. I think the issue is bigger than just MSFS as it is also not working in the disaster that is Star Citizen. I have it working in ETS2.
Previewing my eyes with the bubbles also works on the Desktop but not in game which I believe it should?
As for the Red lights, they are continually on. The device itself is working as the calibration is perfect, it just wonât translate into games.
Uninstall any TrackIR software if you have it installed.
Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files both X86 and X64. Start at Visual Studio 2005 (VC++ 8.0) SP1 by downloading and installing both the X86 and X64 files and then work your way upwards to Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 downloading then installing each one as you go.
Click in the Windows Search bar and type in Services and click on it. Scroll down and make sure that:
Tobii Eye Tracker Generic Service
Tobii Runtime Service
Tobii Service
have a Status of Running. Then click X to close Services.
Try running FaceTrackNoIR, I wrote a quick guide on how to use it here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/making-tobii-eye-tracker-work-with-su8/472111/252
If that doesnât work try out the 2 things I mentioned here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/settings-setup-guide-for-the-tobii-eye-tracker-5/502973/10
Okay, so with the red light being on all the time indicates the driver are working as expected.
That it does not work in SC and MSFS indicates that something else is in the way.
For SC, I will check my settings and share them here.
For MSFS, I will check my settings and share here.
It could also be a conflict with other tracking software, if you have ever installed any such software.
Thanks for the support so far.
I did have OpenTrack installed but removed this proir to Tobii being installed. On closer inspection I have just seen that CL-Eye Driver was installed. I have just removed it. I will restart and have another go.
I have all the C++ redistributables installed as I have previously needed them.
Just had a look in services and all the Tobii services are running as they should be.
UPDATE
Still not working with the CL-Eye Driver removed.
I canât see anything else installed which would effect this.
I am slightly begrudged to spend any more money when I know Tobii is supported. Iâd rather have it working in itâs native form.
Do you have all 12 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files installed?
^ There are actually 13 listed in this image but Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) is listed twice as I have 2 versions of it installed, you only need 1 but donât uninstall any duplicates.
^ Make sure the last 2 lines actually say Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022
Do you have .NET installed?
I had similar problem last week when I received my Tobii. Tried several things from this thread but no joy. Finally unplugged my external camera that I use for Zoom meetings and that fixed it. Did not have to un-install TrackIR software or anything else. The external camera only used the default Windows camera software.
Hope this helps.
Garry
I noticed that your Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) didnât update. Visit this link: https://my.visualstudio.com/ and sign in with your Microsoft account. Then visit this link: https://my.visualstudio.com/Downloads?q=Visual%20Studio%202022 and tick Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.0)
Locate âVisual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2022 (version 17.0)â click the drop down to change a64 to x64 then click the Download button
and then install it.
If that didnât fix it then follow steps 1-34 mentioned in this post: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/settings-setup-guide-for-the-tobii-eye-tracker-5/502973/10
If still no joy then follow steps 35-77 mentioned in this post: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/settings-setup-guide-for-the-tobii-eye-tracker-5/502973/10
^ While you are waiting for Tobii support to email you the clean uninstaller tools try FaceTrackNoIR (guide here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/making-tobii-eye-tracker-work-with-su8/472111/252) at a price of âŹ3.45 EUR itâs not going to break your bank balance.
Great suggestion Garry as I did have a camera plugged in but unfortunately no joy.
Extracting then selecting the .exe does not appear to do anything but I have run it
