developer of the ATR is Hans Hartmann, he did also the aerosoft CRJ. if he also did the model idk.

Yeah if ATR was involved they should be pretty disappointed. Frankly it reflects poorly on their brand.
If I was ATR Iād have demanded extremely high fidelity so as the product is an accurate simulation of the real thing and not something that would paint the aircraft and thus the company in a bad light.
the thing is, licensing stuff mostly is only for money making. Boeing for ex does not care on the quality as long as you pay.
dassault is the only one i i know who cares.
As far as I know, every aircraft in the base sim which carries the companyās real world name is officially licensed - and those aircraft vary dramatically in accuracy and quality.

From a pilot point of view, when adjusting seating position in accordance with the eye reference indicator. You will just about see the top of the screen, when comparing this view with MSFS, it is clear that screen size, placement and basic cockpit geometry is incorrect.
If you look really closely, with New Avionic Standard (NAS) 3, the ADI is no longer centered in the background (more noticeable when glideslope scale is removed), MSFS it is centered in the background.

I was extremely skeptical of the streaming, or whatever you want to call it, But when I tried it and found it worked perfectly, I love it. Skepticism is usually proved one way or the other by simply trying something. If someone was put off because they didnāt want to simply try something, theyāre not that serious to begin with in my opinion
Tried reading through the thread and didnāt see anyone else dealing with this issue Iām having, but on PS5 the ATR 42-600 constantly disconnects the autopilot in all phases of flight. I have tried hard to check everything I can think of:
- Hardware: HOTAS 4 joystick, throttle, and rudder pedals
- Dead zone on Z axis is set almost as high as it will go - no need for rudder control with Z axis with the pedals.
- Small dead zones configured for X axis
- Small dead zone set for the rudder pedals
- Throttle sits in the hardware notch for NOTCH throttle setting in flight
- All rudder and aileron-related bindings removed from DualSense controller and mouse peripheral
- Avionics
- Yaw damper active (YD shows on the PFD any time the autopilot disconnects)
- Aircraft configured appropriately for phase of flight
- Aileron, rudder trims set to 0
- Airspeed appropriate for phase of flight
- Power setting appropriate for phase of flight (takeoff, climb, cruise)
- Flaps appropriate for phase of flight (first notch on takeoff, up during climb/cruise/descent, incremental deployment on approach and final)
- Environment/Sim Settings
- No assists remain enabled
- Occurs in both high and calm wind environments
- It did occur in icing once, but I have since confirmed it occurs outside of icing conditions as well
- Occurs with either custom or live weather settings
- Only flown in Free Flight (from what others have said I donāt think the plane is available in career, not sure about other modes)
Iām hoping to find anyone that might be having a similar experience or may have suggestions for other things to try. The lack of information when searching online makes me feel like itās an aviator error but Iām at my witās end trying to troubleshoot. I found one commenter in another forum that said āeveryone [he] knowsā has the problem, but havenāt been able to corroborate that at all. I also understand that AAU4 has some attention on the ATRās systems and wonder if thereās any info out there that shows it might address the issue (if it is an issue).
Would appreciate anyoneās insight! I love turboprops in general and the plane fills a really nice role in my day-to-day simming, super big bummer that I canāt figure this out.

There should be a big update coming to the ATRās soon, I suggest you check back in after it has been released as the ATR has not been updated since the release of msfs 2024. I have not flown the ATR in a long time (because it hasnāt been updated), but I am wondering whether or not it has hardware overriding the AP in the settings on the EFB somewhere? I know that has caused AP disconnects on other aircraft for me.
Is / Has the ATR that will release in SU5 been tested in SU5 Beta ?
No⦠We will all discover the changelog and the updated plane at the same time⦠I would have love to test it during SU5, and have the feeling, that it could be a very good thing for us, and the developpers to release a beta for the airplanes too.
Yeah the A20N v2 was in the 2020 SU14 and SU15 betas before it released with SU15

The ATR update is part of AAU4 not SU5, itās just that they will be released at or around the same time. AAU4 will not have a beta test phase (AAU4 Avionics and Aircraft Update - User Support Hub / Aircraft & Systems - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums)
I donāt recall any previous AAU having a beta release although I could be mistakenā¦.

Do you have issues with other aircraft in sim, there have been reports of AP and Auto thrust disconnects in PS5 as a general issue (not just aircraft specific) that may or may not be the same thing described here?
I believe AAU1 and AAU2 were public beta tests in MSFS 2020, but AAU3 and 4 were not public beta tests.

No there are many aircraft that Iām able to fly with no issue at all. The CJ4, the Airbus A330 and A320neo (although it seems the latest beta build introduced unresponsive cockpit controls), the Cessna 172, the Cirrus SR22T, etc. The ATRs are the only ones giving me these autopilot fits.
