What new Warbirds would you like to see?

Sooo many…

Douglas F-4D Skyray

Douglas A-3 Skywarrior

Ryan FR-1 Fireball

Martin B-26 Marauder

Grumman F11F Tiger

Boeing B-47

F8U Crusader (there is one, but it has a horrific flight model and was abandoned by its dev)

RA-5C Vigilante

yes and/or the Strikemaster

I agree with Alabatross75160, a DH.98 Mosquito is a must.

I look forward to Aeroplane Heaven’s and hope the sales and reviews inspires other developers to produce their own Mosquitos. See [In Development] Aeroplane Heaven de Havilland Mosquito

To compliment this twin-engined beauty, we already have a Lockheed P-38 Lightning and a Grumman Tigercat. But I would love to see the following:

  1. De Havilland DH.103 Hornet F.3 / Sea Hornet F.20
[My favourite! See: De Havilland DH 103 Hornet - lost but not forgotton - Official Microsoft Flight Simulator / Wishlist - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums]
  2. North American F-82E Twin Mustang
  3. Bristol Beaufighter Mk 21
  4. Northrop P-61C & E Black Widow
[DC Designs is working on a Black Widow. I they complete it. See DC Designs P61 Black Widow ]

Single, V-engined fighters I would like:

  1. Griffon-engined Spitfire Mk 14, 18, 22, & 24
[I love my Flying Iron Mk 9. I hope they make one of these Griffon-engined Spits!]
  2. Martin Baker MB-5
  3. CAC-15 Kangaroo
  4. North American P-51G, H & L

Single, Radial-engined fighters I would like:

  1. Hawker Sea Fury FB.11
[DSD produced a freeware Sea Fury. I would be willing to pay for an advanced payware version.]
  2. Grumman Bearcat F8F-2
[It would be hard for me to choose between a Sea Fury and a Bearcat]
  3. Republic P-47D-40-RA, M-1-RE, N-25-RE & XP-72
  4. Vought-Goodyear F2G-2 Super Corsair

I agree on the Invader. @LagaffeVFR5476 , who has done a PBY and is currently working on bringing a DC-4/C-54 FSX port up to snuff, has indicated he intends to follow that with an A-26.

Yes, my A-26 is Work In Progress …

Exterior is 95 % completed

Interior should be the next step …

For the moment I only announced this new freeware on SOH. No beta version is yet planned and it is not yet downloadable.

To date no serious Italian warbirds have been made in MSFS2024 starting with the famous FIAT CR-42 biplane aircraft with world speed records unsurpassed to this day, but my favorite is a series 5 aircraft which is the Macchi 205 Veltro.

I looked that one up on Wiki. Cool plane! And quite the performer.
I found this interesting factoid:

“Both the C.202 and C.205 had the port wing 8” longer than the starboard to compensate lift for engine torque."

Neat!

I tried to find a clip with engine sounds. No luck.

I would like to see the Fokker DR 1 and the Sopwith Triplane, so friends and I could do mock Dogfights!

I like it!! That has produced some very interesting results - so far - keep ‘em coming. On the jet front I am biased towards those aircraft that I enjoyed working on during my time (40YRS) with RAF, hence the Victor, Buccaneer and Hunter. One that I spent some time with was the A4 Skyhawk and that’d be nice and I’d go along with the JP/Strikemaster too.

I believe that there is a Sea Fury, available as freeware from Flightsim.to and it doesn’t look too bad. Perhaps I’ll give that a try.

I did Tag the post for 2020 but I have to accept that it is highly unlikely any Dev will be producing anything for the ‘old’ sim any time soon.

I would love to see Flight Replicas bring their CAC Boomerang across to MSFS.

As an aside, is anyone out there also interested in having historical airfields to fly these warbirds from?

Yes. Definitely.
RedWing is doing a great job with their classic themed airfields and in my opinion there is always room for more options.

Yes. RedWing is doing a great job of “restoring” airfields to their 1930s state.

@PipsPriller and the Time Machine Designs team is working on WW2 version of RAF Kenley. TMD is also developing an extensive library assets they plan to use with other WW2 RAF bases. See [In Development] RAF Kenley 1940

I would love to see this beauty flying around to bad thats freeware, can’t download Xbox

That’s a great list, thanks. And suggests a slightly different approach to the one I had in mind which is to “rebuild” airfields at a point in their last associated with specific aircraft.

@MeusMagister has kindly linked to our Kenley project. If successful, we have number of others we want to work on.

I am really looking forward to RAF Kenley which is looking fantastic judging by the development shots that you have posted already.
