Wish list for future features

Hi all!
As I get more flights in on MSFS and fewer on P3D and X-Plane, I’m always hoping for the last few things that are available in P3D and not yet showing up in MSFS that would make me totally switch. Since all three have features that many of us cherish and the debate on the “best” flight sim is always entertaining, im curious as to what our community is looking forward to the most, like the top 3 favorite items we wish to see. For me personally, it would be:

1. A study-level 3rd party jetliner, PMDG 737/747/777 are my personal favorite
2. Hydrodynamic/atmospheric effects- the water landing effect would be nice to see. Condensation in engine nacelles and wing vortices, wheel spray on wet surfaces, etc… would be cool - Something similar to Parallel 42 Immersion packages.
   3)Fix airport lighting and nav lights- all the lights seem to be much too big and bright to me. Maybe a way to pick various light intensities- AI Lights reborn has a cool product for this…

What are your choices that would get you to switch to MSFS?

Improved wind effects so we could have Damaging winds like Sudden down drafts so microbursts could be a thing and updrafts pushing the aircraft around During thunderstorms to make flying with storms more scary

If the OP is looking for a third-party study-level airliner, then that is not Wishlist because Wishlist is only for Microsoft/Asobo.

Floatplanes support

I would love to see fleshed out support for floatplanes - we have an entire planet’s worth of lakes, coasts and fjords to explore but currently aircraft interaction with water is still quite basic. Realistic Vapor / Condensation effects

I know these probably aren’t in the game because the devs are currently working on implementing them, but I just wanted to say that if we could see realistic vapor effects depending on the weather, like engine intake and wing condensation, wingtip vortices, and contrails, that would be absolutely wonderful. Aircraft should make trails through clouds (wingtip vortices)

I’d like to see the wings, propellers, etc. actually cut through the clouds as the plane passes through. Right now, it seems like there is no collision at all between aircraft and clouds, which looks very unrealistic. [image]

Unrealistic airport lighting distances

Title says it all, breaking down the issues as follows: Approach and REIL lights are way too visible (bright) and visible from too far way. In real life, it’s very difficult to find an airport, especially in cityscapes where there are a lot of lights. In the picture attached, the distance to that airport is over 20nm away (look just below the wing, can see the approach and REILs). You would never be able to see these lights at that distance. Please consider making NAV lights look like real lights versus the round placeholders

It’s a little thing but it does not look realistic at all–they look like round globes and detract from realism. Have a look at P3D they look great there. Thanks, great stuff so far! [image]
