It is pretty appaling how badly we got treated there, pathetic coverage of the UK.
My guess? They think we all have hundreds more to spend on each town and city across the whole world … or maybe they thought that the FlightSIm community is very small in the UK and we wouldn’t buy it?
Whichever, or whatever reason, they really blew it there and really insulted all of us after our years of buying FS2000, 2002, 2004, FSX etc. They even got Norwich taxiways the wrong way round, which makes me wonder how accurate any of it really is … Just cannot wait to get my hands on the SDK so I can fix EGSH, but I guess I’ll have to be a “partner” and promise to sell stuff to make them money like OrbX etc.

SDK is available to everyone who applies for it.
UK is not represented because Bing does not have photogrammetry for it. Go on microsoft maps and check it. MSFS only uses exactly the same area that are available in Bing, nothing more or less. It is a matter of availability. If Bing gets them, we will get them in World updates every 2-3 months or so.
Btw. Photogrammetry is not made from satellite imagery but from planes. Google just spent a lot more money having own fleet of planes that take photos of cities.
Not quite, you have to join the partner program and fill in a form with “your best work” and then wait to see if you get accepted.
As for the photogrammetery, there should be a LOT more available of the UK.
The thing is, Bing uses TomTom for the US cities listed, and Ordnance Survey photogrammetry in the UK, via Tom Tom, which is going to be expensive for them to pay for an OS licence - so I guess they aren’t.
There are countries that don’t have any photogrammetry cities, so be happy for those two.

Ok so we’re talking about the lack of photogram cities outside of the US but how about the normal satellite data that manual cache isn’t downloading anywhere? It’s not just about city flying, or photogram areas, some of us want to fly VFR in rural areas using normal satellite data but you can’t do that with manual cache. It only works for Photogram areas.
If it is similar to FSX, the cache will be just for scenery and objects.
What is the issue?
Does the GPS lose it’s location in rural areas using the manual cache?
Or is it because you are not connected to the internet and that is why you aren’t getting any “satellite” data?
Honestly, I am quite disappointed for selection of the cities.

Actually, how to do this?
I read somewhere that photogrammetry would be available at places where we can select “birds eye view”, but I’ve flown over several of those and they all were autogen and are not on that list (where does that actually come from?). OTOH I checked one city that was on the list and I can’t get the “birds eye view” on BM there at all. So, how do we see / check on BM where there is photogrammetry?

go on Microsoft AppStore and install Earth View. It is free. You have a list of all photogrammetry places within one click just click 3D list on the top of the panel.

I wonder why Charlotte wasn’t included. It may not be the capital, but it is the largest metro area in North or South Carolina by both area and population.

You may have discovered this by now, but some of the cities that are claimed to have “birds eye view/3d” are just the downtown, which is why you can’t select that option in parts of that city.
2014 seems to be when they last took these kinds of photos.
this part of the list im gonna have to argue with, being i live in Gainesville area, grew up in Peachtree City, lived in Riverdale ( spelled Riversdale in the sim ) and know most of the state by air, while counting in the old data there are still plenty of errors in play. that simply dont match the data itself.
i was born in Fort Myers and it looks pretty decent.
I’m surprised a city like Charlotte doesn’t have photogrammetry. A major city in the Southeast
