@LoadedPompano5 Welcome to the forums!
Hi Frank & welcome to the forums,
If you want to fly online but donāt want to worry about ATC, check out this post:
Happy flights!
Thanks!! I will certainly try
Well yes maybe I should try the same: first find a place to practice and then move over to VATSIM. Right now I am also still struggling with finding my way in MSFS, it is a bit overwhelming all the options to set thereā¦to much in my opnion but I love the graphics,itās really worth it!

Thanks, happily there is already so much help online like tutorials on Yuotube.
As I wrote in my introduction: right now I am trying to learn all about the Garmin 1000. I finally (!!)took a subscripion on Navigraph wich makes things a lot easier I must say. All the years before it took me (too) much hourts searching all the right charts (including sids and stars) online. Navigraph is great, and so is Simbrief and Little Navmap. Excellent tools!
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Frank.
Hi yāall, my name is Enrique, Iām 36 years old. I bought a couple months ago an Xbox X just for the sole purpose of playing MSFS2020. Iām an A&P Mechanic and Iāve been working in aviation for half my life (since I was 18). My love for aviation was basically what led me to try flight simulation. My favorite airplanes to fly are Cessna 172, and the Cessna Citation (I actually work on the latter in the real world). Well hope yāall like my introduction. See you in the skies.
Hey, how you doing? Im an XBOX user too, just wondering what Vatsim was, Iām fairly new to flight simulation.
Thanks.
Hi @PickyInspector & welcome to the forums
VATSIM (short for the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network) is a completely free online platform which allows virtual pilots, wherever they are in the world, to connect their flight simulators into one shared virtual world. VATSIM also simulates air traffic control in this virtual world, creating the ultimate as-real-as-it-gets experience for you, the virtual aviation enthusiast.
However, it appears it is not compatible with XBox:

If it turns out that is is compatible with Xbox, this group is looking for more users to join them:
Hope this helps!

Hello. I donāt know where to post a problem with black screens on the Garmin g1000. Thanks
Hi @PlumTugboat7268 & welcome to the forums
First, have a look at this topic that describes the various categories within the forum & where to post:
Secondly, in order to respond to a topic or create a topic, you need to be at āTrust Level 1ā. What are trust levels? - this topic explains:
As I write this, you are at Trust Level 0. In order to advance to Trust Level 1, you must:
- Enter 5 topics
- Read 5 posts
- Spend at least 15 minutes reading posts
Iād suggest reading this topic that might address your question about the Garmin g1000:
Once you are at trust level 1, you can reply to that topic, or if it does not answer your question, create a new topic in User Support Hub User Support Hub > Aircraft & Systems
Hope this helps - Fly safe!
Thanks for the reply. I am trying to get used to the forum and how to use it. I was in to msfs years ago and just trying to get back into it. Iām eager to get info on my problem, but I will keep looking. David
A post was split to a new topic: Need Help, CTD with G-1000
Hello all,
My name is Jeremy. Started my FS hobby back in the days with FS98, thinking it was realistic to depart Meigs Field with a 737-400. We are now 20 odd years later and I am now paying my bills by flying the A300-600 in real life. At the beginning of this year I had a bit of a throwback and purchased a PC to try MS2020 and so far so good. Really brings back a lot of memories of the past. Currently mainly flying the Fenix A320 family, great to see some DNA from my current real world airplane in the newer Fly by Wire Airbus family.
Might give it a try to take off from the exact same Meigs Field with an A300 nowā¦
To the point; I am trying to improve my PC to get better performance (as we all doā¦). I tried to post in the Performance topic but I donāt see any button in order to start a new topic. My current PC is equipped with an i7-13700f and RTX4070, 32GB of RAM, 2TB SSD but I am wondering what the bottleneck of my system is. Medium overall, some high settings, Fenix A320, Aviotek freeware FRA, Just Flight Traffic and real world weather brings my system on its knees. Not sure where to begin my system upgrade journey, whether the CPU or the GPU could use a boost.
Hi @HJCumberdale and welcome to the forums
I suspect that the reason you could not post in the Performance topic is that you were at ātrust level 0ā. (Have a look at my post to PlumTugboat7268 ^^^above ^^^ if you want to know about trust levels). You are now at trust level 1, so should be able to post in the User Support Hub User Support Hub > Install, Performance & Graphics sub-category.
I do not think you need to upgrade your CPU or GPU at this point. Try using this search criteria:
RTX4070 performance #user-support-hub:install-perf-graphics-user
If none of the topics help, then you can create a new topic & copy over the text of your question above into it.
{Edit - catching up on new topics, Iāve seen you have done exactly that! }
Hi! My name is Antonio. I am a long time flightsim lover and enthusiast! I started flying in a Macintosh Classic with FS 4.0 back in 1990! Iām a PC user. I bought msfs2020 around early 2023 and I love it!
I have a high-end computer and I run the sim in ultra settings with no issues at all⦠until last Monday Aug 26th 2024. I now have an awful lag if Iām online regardless the graph settings! I canāt find if itās only me or an overall issue.
Glad to be here!
Cheers!
Hello! Welcome to the forums!
Lagging issues could be related to a bad internet connection but it doesnāt have to be the case.
If you use rolling cache (in data settings) it might also help to delete the cache file.
If that doesnāt solve the issue Iād recommend checking out the Archives > Bugs & Issues section on the forums.
Happy flying!
