Many thanks, @Sleevezipper . I actually purchased MSFS2024 on PS5, but when I tried to fly between two airports, there was not the usual “stick with blue circle” on the horizon (which shows the location of the destination airport), so I quit. Also, I am very happy with MSFS2020 on Xbox Series X and have lots of aircraft there. In addition to that, I’m going for the Wing Commander achievement on the Xbox and have about 450 hours left.

Hi everyone! I am new here. I have been flight simming for just over 6 years. I started on X-Plane 11, and my dad’s old Ace Combat Thrustmaster set. I have had an upgrade, and now use your generic Thrustmaster TCS Airbus Combo. I used to play a lot on MSFS2020, but took a break. Now I am getting into MSFS 2024.

Any tips for me as I get started?

Use the forum and youtube vids for advice. Don’t buy any aircraft/scenery until you do your research about it and the developer. There are some excellent and some very bad ones!

Hey. While I’m new to simming, I’ve been watching airplane-related content on YouTube for years. E.g. MentourPilot, 74Gear and DutchPilotGirl.

What always held me back from simming was A) I wasn’t sure if my PC could handle it (both in specs and OS (Ubuntu LTS) and B) the cost for a yoke were insane. Only recently found out there are joysticks for flightsimming which make it quite a bit cheaper.

So now I’ve bought MSFS2024 on Steam and connected the Thrustmaster Flight Stick X USB. Still fighting the program though, Flight Simulator tries to switch to my MKB instead of the joystick… Annoying…

Edit: Actually, that only happens in Career. Free Flight works. Yay?

Answering question #1, In order to create a new topic (thread), you need to be at Trust Level 1. Currently, you a new member at trust level 0.

Please add the msfs-2020 or msfs-2024 I have not been able to see any multiplayer traffic on the release of SU5 1.7.27.0. I was doing beta testing for this SU and had exited from that program when the latest production update was released but I have not seen anyone else online on any server.
