Air Canada's Newest Regional First Officer!

We had given FlightExec our notice and flew the CJ4 into CYKZ for the final time last week.

We didn’t waste anytime loading up the 310 and heading back north for home (CYTS).

And upon landing, we hit our 600 HRS goal.

After unloading and a quick Thanksgiving meal we headed East to Montreal.

It was nice to get some color below us as we left the Boreal forest and into the fall color producing trees.

After touching down at CYUL we headed to Air Canada’s HQ for an interview.

The interview went well and was followed up by a test.

The wait didn’t take too long, and before I knew it, I was hired!

We took off out of CYUL with good news in tow!

And after spending the night back in CYTS, headed back down to Toronto to start training!

Having spent the last few weeks familiarizing myself with the CRJ procedures, configuring my controls, cockpit, etc…

I am ready to start flight training!

I still have another 24" touch screen on the way that will serve as the true overhead but for now, this works. Also have much more pedestal instruments not yet displayed (thank you simstrumentation).

Today we got to tour the CRJ-900.

And checkout the new office!

Looking forward to starting this adventure!

I bought everything (including PC) in one shot so it was quite expensive ($15,000+ Canadian).

It has been just over a week since I started flying the CRJ9 with VAC (vacanada.org) and so far so good. It has taken quite a bit of practice to land smoothly but they are getting much better.

I have been promoted over to the left seat with;

It’s also taken some work to get the timing right on the flight plans and then do the walk around, pre flight, originating, startup etc… as well as time it with PACX and the VA ACARS system but I’ve got it all smoothed out now and it runs well.

As has been the case with every plane thus far, I always seem to do a night flight for the inaugural run.

We also had a couple nights in a row of CATII and CATIII’s into YYZ.

With the fog still hanging around the following morning.

I only have 21hrs in MSFS2020. I have question, do your hours increase by the time you spend in the game or the time you fly?

Flight Time is logged from wheels up to wheels down.

I have 1,414.7 Hours of MSFS running, but just over 700 hours of flight time.

oh ok I haven’t even reached 50 hrs yet buy hopping to reach them till the end of winter vacation. Do your flying time give you anything?

I’m not sure I understand what you are asking?
