Hi all — happy to be here. I’m from Finland, flying MSFS 2024 (with the occasional dabble in other sims), and my favourite aircraft is the B757-200. In the sim I lean toward VFR — that’s where the fun is for me.
I’ve been flying sims since Microsoft Flight Simulator 2.0, and somewhere along the way it stopped being a hobby: I ended up leaving software development for a flight school, worked my way up through pistons, turboprops and jets to the heavy metal, and 29 years on I’m still flying both real and sim aircraft for a living. I also use Navigraph in my professional training to get a feel for places before I actually go there.
Been quietly building a little side project to bring some of that real-world briefing touch to the sim, but that’s a story for another channel. For now, just glad to be part of the community — looking forward to getting to know you all.
Just joined the forums. I’m a casual player. I fly on a controller, no fancy HOTAS setup, and I spend most of my time in Career Mode.
I signed up mainly to share some ideas.
Looking forward to being part of the community!
By the way, I am Rootjev10, I like playing MFS2024 because of how realistic it is. I am from The Netherlands. My favorite airplane is the Boeing 747. I like doing short flights.

Hi there! PDK here. IRL I’m currently on the B787-9. Former sim training pilot on the B737 and cut my teeth on the 727. Prior to that Air Ambulance on a King Air and flying light singles and twins getting my time up so the airlines would look at me.
Recently got into MSFS when it was released for PS5 - staring down the barrel of retirement in around 5 years or so and figured I might miss flying. This initial check out was supposed to be to see if I’d like to take on a PC based sim rig project once I retire. Now with the crazy quality increase on PSVR2 on SU6 I’m headed down that road a bit early, albeit on PS5 Pro instead of PC.
Very little desire to fly airliners in the sim as I do it for $$$ now What I’m really enjoying is flying the little stuff, the older the better. There’s a few aircraft that I never got to fly that were always high on my list and I’m loving the chance to flog them around now (I’m looking at you, Beaver and Goose).
If any questions come up about real world ops on the B787-9, B737, or B727 I’m happy to answer DM’s!
Hi @PDK6406 and welcome to the forums.
Since you like the Beaver & Goose, if these aircraft (two of my favorites) are available on the PS5 marketplace, you might want to check them out:
From the 2024 Deluxe edition (discussion thread about this aircraft is here):
Thanks! For years there was an Albatross parked in the general aviation parking in MMUN (Cancun). Me and the fellas always used to threaten going in to buy it as a group
We moved terminals and I stopped seeing the old girl. Not sure if it’s still there.
W.r.t. your question about a BahamasAir livery, you might want to request this in this wishlist topic:
W.r.t. MYCA, I’d suggest that you make your request in this topic. Please read the first post in the topic for instructions on what data is required to be entered in your post:
Hey all, I only started trying MSFS on PS5 maybe a month ago and never played a flight sim like this before. Haven’t tried the VR yet but plan to - have played some of the career and some free flight. This game is way more fun than I was expecting.
I do have one question, and that is what is this thing that looks like a cellphone attached to the wing support on this plane? My sister actually noticed it. I was too busy looking at the cars jumping into the water and laughing. lol.
Hello everyone, thank u all for creating such a great resource for digital aviatiors like me. I have always played racing simulators, and last few years in VR. I dont have the motivation to bother with pc’s, so i play on a PS5, with PSVR2. Always wished for a flight sim. As soon as msfs 2024 announced their free VR update, i decided to buy the aviator version. I practised on screen so i could fly in VR when su5 would come out. As soon as it came out, i have not played anything else than msfs 2024. I have played more then 1000 hours in less then half a year, almost constantly I have the HOTAS 4 as well, and combined with PSVR2 it really is absolutely mesmerising to be in the air flying like this.
I just hope the updates are not so relentless in the future, breaking the entire experience like SU6 did yet again just now. At the moment the sim is unplayable, every flight results in a crash (not by me but by the software haha). But i will wait for the hotfix, and then i will step into the aircraft again, I thank you again for explaining workarounds, and creating extensive bug reports, for all of us. Have a great day
