[CONT] Official Discussion: Hotfix 1.18.15.0

Since SU5 the chaos when trying to fly my favourite Baron and the C152 has subsided a little.I still fly the sim nearly every day but there is no doubt it is a significantly poorer experience than pre SU5. The aircraft are very difficult to trim because of the coarseness of the elevator trim adjustment, and consequently are much harder to fly smoothly.I find it essential to cycle the controls untill the cockpit graphics appear to be reacting properly before each session or the aircraft can be unflyable.I have reduced any Ultra graphic settings to High or less. I do not get CTDs when flying any more but stuttering intermittently ranges from slight to severe, the Sim even stops completely for a time now and then. The scenery “draw distance” is much reduced so the scenery rendering is always annoyingly noticable and the overall scenery quality is observably reduced. I am a retired Pilot, not a “Computer Techie” but it is clear to me that my powerful computer (bought especially for MSFS) is not being allowed to make as effective use of its components as it was before successive “updates”
particularly SU5. I guess its about reduced memory utilisation (I do have 32GB RAM) as well as inadequate scenery buffering, but then I cannot be sure
I am just a Pilot. I am sure MS/Asobo are fully aware of the problems that PC users are having, as well as the required solutions. I trust they will sort the Sim out before too long. My personal view is that ,at present, MSFS is of little use to me untill they do. Successive scenery updates are nice, but if the “core Sim” doesn’t run properly
what’s the point ?

just added even more bugs and glitches
at this point there is no point reporting ALL those to zendesk, since, well i guess it would take hours, and when was the last time anything reported to zendesk was actually resolved?

Hi guys! Can someone please assist me
I’ve bought FS2020 thru Steam. Now cannot use it as CTD’s happen before even reaching the Map. If I uninstall FS2020, how do I install it again? Will Steam have the purchase stored or do I need to buy it again?

Will re-installing it help solve the CTD’s?

My PC is compatible to FS2020, as it worked beautifully since DEC2020 till the last update. I’m hoping a reinstall might solve the issue!

Have you tried checking the integrity of the local files via Steam already? Do you know how to do that?

Noooo
help!!

An update is due next week, in which Asobo said they would include a CTD fix. It’s not yet clear whether it will solve all CTDs (including mine), but it’s probably worth waiting for.

If that doesn’t work for everyone, there will be lots of advice floating around on the forum for possible alternative solutions.

I would try it before doing a complete reinstall, here is how: Verify Integrity of Game Files - Steam Support

Yeah! I guess you’re right
it’s just so ■■■■ frustrating to sit around when others are flying around the world!! I’m sure you guys understand.

The screen shots and visuals from the guys who have it working are brilliant
which makes it even harder to sit around waiting for the FIX.

Hoping that they get it fixed

Thanks
will try this

If you verify the integrity of MSFS files on Steam, it will probably delete the game:

Reinstalling is kind of overkill here. You can try to see if its your settings which have a problem by finding the usrcfg.opt file and delete it before launching the sim. The sim will create a default one but you will lose your settings (graphics, data, traffic, etc.) and you’ll have to set them again.
Also, if you can reach the Options menu before the CTD, try to set a vsync ON and frame limit to 30 as a test. If it work it mean possibly your GPU work too hard on “free wheel” and you need a frame limiter. Could be vsync ON, or in your GPU drivers (like in NVidia Control Panel), or an external program (like RivaTuning, etc.).

Why does Paderborn Lippstadt Airport (EDLP) take 17 to 20 G of space for download?

My sim will crash to desktop every single time ever since this update.

It worked fine for the most part prior (maybe the occasional crash at the tail-end of one out of every 15-20 flights) but ever since this update, after just a few seconds of panning around the world map it will crash. Once I manually typed in the airport codes to bypass the world map and it loaded the flight, and then crashed before I could even look around the plane.

I’ve removed my community folder, I’ve upgraded my graphics cards drivers. I guess I’ll spend an entire day reinstalling the game and the add-ons/updates at this point. I figured it would be fixed with the hotfix but it’s not. Can’t play the game.

Intel i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz
32GB of RAM
TUF Z370-Plus Gaming Motherboard
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

That cpu has a huge boost clock especially as it’s only 65 watts. Now I know you shouldn’t have to but if you haven’t already I would try reducing it a little until after the next hotfix or update and then try again.

The only best immprovement of su5 and hotfix is speed up the openning and loading a flight .But caused heavy losses on other parts. Why created new bugs like :white menu bar mark never dissappeared? Why the bule pointer always on when mouse move over certain buttons on panels. Why 787 cannt push to STD mod on barometric pressure ? Why it shows Landing light when mouse move to a320 neo taxi light ?Why lost function trim binding axis to joystick wheel ?
Remind u: Most of us are pc simmers since the very beginning !

My only problem with this sim right now is that my bing satellite imagery has quit working even though i am connected to the internet and have the option turned on in the data options.

There’s another hotfix underway and after that another update that apart from DACH will address many of these complaints but I suspect we’re all going to have to be patient and wait for DX12 to get the full splendour of the sim back.

That’s wierd, are any drives full and in need af a clean up? my only other thought is to delete your rolling cache and set up a new one, it need not be too big but it might kickstart something. Also have you visited a photogrammetry city to see if that loads

Any advice on size for the rolling cache?? Also both of my drives still have plenty of space
Thanks for the tips
