BTW: Just go to a store and buy a mouse for your Xbox dude… Joysticks and other controllers also work (connect a USB Hub to connect multiple USB devices).
Blockzitat 29:29 Q: Will there ever be separate settings for live aircraft and ship traffic?
What there answer here?
They said they had been talking about it internally. The separation of the settings is NOT currently on the SU4 roadmap but they acknowledged it needed to be revisited.
Not entirely surprising. If you look at the number threads/postings on the topic on these boards you probably have less than 10 posts. Below the radar. Personally, I’ve never had the MP CTD. Marketplace has much bigger problems–they did say they are planning to redesign it because it is not working for consumers.
Is MP in this case Marketplace, or is it Multiplayer?
I’ve not heard of Marketplace CTDs, but I’ve heard of Multiplayer CTDs.
Ha! Could be either for sure! Definitely some posts about CTDs in Marketplace.
GiimbalAxis,
Well said. And may I add, doing all the tasks you have mentioned without documentation.
Sorry, meant Mulitplayer, been a long week ![]()
During the stream Jorg talked about VATSIM helping them with ATC. Any more info on that?
In all the lists of bugs, I do not see the one about the degraded Phoenix, Az scenery which should be status bug logged. Has that fallen off the list?
If I remember right something about multilingual ATC. So probably just helping them with phrasing in different languages for their default ATC. But he also said they could ask them about model-matching something as they have a private discord channel with them.
I must say, it’s nice that they’re back porting planes to FS20. I may be projecting, but I see this as another admission that they messed up FS24.
If the Albatross ends up in FS20, I can’t say I’d have much reason to move to FS24.
This times 100. The development team needs to make high functionality standards and rigorous project management a top priority. Their weaknesses here have been obvious to outsiders for years. It will pay dividends even if it means fewer “fun, new things” moving forward.
This time, it was truly shocking to see and hear how many of the replies to problems and problem descriptions were off-topic. It’s always been somewhat like this, but this time, all three responded to major bugs that were off-topic. I don’t think they understand the problems; perhaps it’s due to the wording in the previously submitted questions or the wording in the chat questions…
For example, at 00:40:41, Jörg, when anwered why the V2 of the CRJ was taking so long, replied:
“I have no idea, it’s Aerosoft’s problem.”
He didn’t understand it, that its stuck in the Marketplace aproval. The same topic, also Jörg at the end of the stream: If the developers don’t submit the update, it’s not his fault why updated are not showing up in the Marketplace
The Problem is not that Dev’s dont submit their updates to the Marketplace…
And so these misunderstandings continue throughout the stream; the three of them brush off the issues, but since they don’t understand the issue, the problem remains, and for MS and Asobo, it’s “out of sight, out of mind”…
Edit:
Just wanted to add another topic
Sebastian’s response to the SU 3 CTD regarding SimConnect leaves me speechless. “The bug has always been there, and we wouldn’t fix it because it wasn’t added with SU 3.”
In my opinion, this statement reflects one of the biggest problems between the community and MS/Asobo. I think the community has completely different expectations. Ignoring such bugs just because they’re “old” is crazy.
When will the bugs that existed before be fixed?
Moderators, please send a copy of this post directly to Jörg & Co.! ![]()
Has Aerosoft publicly confirmed that the update is stuck on Microsoft’s side? Maybe it’s stuck because Aerosoft has to rectify some issues.
I remember a different update by a another company where everyone waiting was shouting at Microsoft but the 3rd party developing company had done something wrong and it took them some time to correct it on their side. Personally, I don’t believe it is stuck on Microsoft’s side for weeks because nobody at Microsoft can be bothered to approve it when it is ready.
If I remember correctly Seb did not say that they wouldn’t fix it because it was a known bug - which would be absurd.
I remember that he said that it wasn’t easy to spot that this known problem had become a much larger issue for parts of the population. Meaning that a previously not reported exception/issue is much more visible in their systems.
I have not had a chance to rewatch the stream, yet, but I’ll pay closer attention to that part when I do.
Same seems to be the case with PMDG right now - they submitted their 777 MS2024 Marketplace updates a while ago (over a week) and there was no updates on yesterday’s Marketplace. Maybe there is a preference to sell their own and direct partners products first priority (Citation X FFX) - strange these appear in the MP instantly independent of what day it is while other 3rd party devs are kept waiting…
Same happened with Inibuilds A350 which appeared instantly…
Yes, Yes, Yes. Please Yes.
Product survival in the global corporate world often hinges on novelty for the sake of growth. To keep a brand alive, brand champions often have to make choices that are irrational to those outside the industry, in order to secure continued presence on the org chart and in the product catalog. Internal competition for resources for R&D and marketing can be fierce, and along with those wins/losses goes team sizes and headcount. While I have no inside knowledge that any of this is at play here, we would be wise to consider corporate realities today, however unpleasant and unrelated to good coding practices for flight sim games. Thoughts?
And for the curious, here is a recent non-official top-25 tally of bug-logged reports for FS2020 based on votes, since we haven’t had an official version for FS2020 for a long time. What’s missing is the “status” so it’s possible some of these have been fixed. For example the top “Msfs 2020 will not shut down fully” bug is already resolved in the SU16 beta, and I’m no longer noticing a performance decrease when using pop-out panels. But most of these are still bugs in FS2020 SU15 and even SU16 today. Vote counts also may not be entirely up to date, but are close.
